SunBurn is a volunteer produced event. We have no stars, headliners, or corporate sponsors. We depend on you, our community, to enable this event’s existence.

1. THEME CAMPS & PLACEMENT:

Grab some friends and create an experience! You could provide a space for collaborative project creation, or a walk-through exhibit about your great-grandmother, Florence.  Or an LED cardboard city pub serving fancy drinks.  Come up with a theme, put together a team, make sure they all get tickets, and Bring It. Placement request forms are available, links below! Simply fill out the registration form, and let us know what you’re doing and how we can help you. It’s pretty great to put your camp on the map. If you have placement questions, contact placement@nmsunburn.com.

Be sure to read all the info on the Tickets page regarding vehicle camping!

2. ART GRANTS:

In 2018, we had the most art work and projects ever at a Regional Event in New Mexico, due largely to the art grants funded from ticket sales and a large gift from Meow Wolf!   We’re gonna do it again in 2019!  We have money to give away to artists and makers of all sorts in exchange for illuminating our event with your work.  Grants are typically $100 to $500 and are meant to match your own contribution toward your art project.

Our first Art Grant application cycle has closed and grantees will be announced on April 20th. We are excited to open a second Art Grant cycle that same day which will close May 15th! Questions to artgrants@nmsunburn.com.

3. SHARE YOU:

Share your talents! Can you dance or paint? Want to bring out a harp and perform?  Got a sculpture? Let the art department know at art@nmsunburn.com.

4. WORK WEEKENDS:

We had a very productive work weekend in May starting to prep the site for our arrival!

The next work weekend is June 15-16; pre-event set-up June 29-30 will be intended to focus on theme camps and infrastructure. More to come on that.

Projects to complete and shifts available for the June work weekend are outlined in the volunteer database – link below. For liability reasons, all work weekend pARTicipants will need to be accounted for on the database (as opposed to just showing up) and sign a waiver.

5. VOLUNTEER:

Join the SunBurn Parallax Posse!

Share/gain skills and work with our incredible teams. We can’t do it without you! We need prep and on-site volunteers with Gate/Greeters, ART, Department of Public Works (DPW), Leave No Trace (LNT), Rangers, Medical, Department of Information, and a bunch of other things. Register your email and sign up for volunteer shifts at:
